This Pardusco Private is quite the statement – a Verdelho red that throws all preconceptions out the window. The producer’s daring use of Alvarelhão has resulted in a wine of astonishingly smooth texture, almost as if carved from stone, underpinned by a vibrant minerality. It’s no surprise then that it earned a coveted 18 points from Grandes Escolhas; a truly exceptional experience best savoured slowly, perhaps alongside a perfectly roasted pork loin and a generous exploration of its citrus and red fruit aromas.
