This Passagem Branco, born in the heart of the Douro Superior, is a delightful surprise – even after the scorching 2022 vintage, the terroir clearly had a few tricks up its sleeve. The harvest, carried out in two distinct phases – a concentrated, rapid first followed by a gentler pick-up after the September rain – yielded a wine brimming with freshness and a striking mineral note, echoing the landscape of the Vale do Meão. Despite ageing 50% in new Allier oak, it retains a vibrant acidity and a long, citrus-infused finish. A truly impressive accompaniment to grilled fish or seafood, celebrating the boldness of the Douro.
