Description

This Pegal is a proper statement from the Douro – a wine that really wraps around you. It’s driven by Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca, with a healthy dose of Tinta Barroca for good measure. Marco Almeida Correia clearly knows what he’s doing, delivering a wine bursting with ripe fruit, but thankfully without any cloying sweetness. There’s a lovely floral note too, hinting at the untamed beauty of the region. Seriously, it’s fantastic with a hearty beef roast – a pairing that balances the wine's intensity with the richness of the meal.
