This “Pera Grave” from Fundação Eugénio de Almeida is clearly a wine that’s been given a serious amount of attention – eight days of careful maceration at 24°C with the skins – resulting in a wonderfully rich aroma of ripe fruit and compote. The wine is full-bodied with firm tannins and a lingering finish, perfect alongside a hearty steak or some aged cheese.
