Description

Poças Produced from traditional grapes of the Demarcated Region of Douro, sourced from a specific plot of the Vale de Cavalos estate called “Ribeira de Teja,” where the terroir’s mineral character is highly expressive. Wood aging confers complexity and structure, amplifying aromas and flavours. Food pairing suggestions: pairs especially well with oven‑baked cod, grilled salmon, roasted goose, truffled pasta, and roasted turkey. Quality: DOC Douro. Origin: Portugal – Demarcated Region of Douro. Sub‑region: Numão (Upper Douro). Vine age: 20–40 years. Soil type: transition between slate and granite. Harvest: hand‑picked grapes from the vineyard. Vinification: 75 % Arinto, 25 % Códega; each variety vinified separately. Fermentation in barrels after decantation. Aging: 10 months in new 300‑liter barrels, with fine lees stirring. Bottling: 2026. Winemaker: André Pimentel Barbosa. Analyses: Residual sugar: 0.97 g/L Total acidity: 7.4 g/L tartaric acid pH: 3.04 Certification: V‑Label (Vegan).
