“Born from the steep slopes of Cima Corgo and Quinta do Pôpa, this Pôpa is a defiant testament to the Douro’s remarkable tenacity. Crafted from vines aged 25 years or more, perched between 50 and 300 meters high with distinctive xisto-rich soils, the wine benefited from a meticulously hand-harvested September 2018 vintage – a year that certainly threw some curveballs. Dominated by Touriga Nacional (40%) and Touriga Francesa (40%), this wine boasts a deep, vibrant colour and an intoxicating bouquet of coffee and blossoming florals, all underpinned by luscious ripe fruit. The palate is impressively structured with firm tannins and a refreshing acidity, expertly balanced by a medium body and a satisfyingly dry finish, hinting at toasted notes and earthy complexity.
