This Queimas from the Dão delivers a rather humbling experience – and a serious dose of blackberry. The ruby hue certainly sets the stage, with intense aromas of wild berries, underpinned by a subtle cedar note generously provided by the Touriga Nacional. On the palate, blueberry and raspberry dance with a vibrant acidity, possessing remarkably smooth tannins that almost make you regret finishing the bottle. Seriously, it pairs beautifully with a hearty roast – or, if you’re feeling particularly adventurous, a rich wild duck.
