This 10-year old Tawny from Quinta da Boeira is a seriously indulgent journey. Initially, that pale chestnut colour, with its tempting amber glow, hints at the pleasure to come. The nose unfolds with a generous dose of ripe wild berries – think blackberries and raspberries – sprinkled with delicate dried fruits and a whisper of aged almond. On the palate, it’s a velvet symphony, finishing with a persistent note of crystallized cherries, a clear nod to the key grape, Tinta Barroca, and its Douro heritage. Seriously, pairs beautifully with a good goat cheese.
