Lagoalva The long tradition of Quinta da Lagoalva as a wine producer is documented in 1888, at the Portuguese Industrial Exhibition, where it presented 600 wine barrels. The red wine Lagoalva Barrel Selection is born from the 45 hectares of vineyards at Quinta da Lagoalva, planted in the finest “terroirs” of the Tagus Valley and composed of both national and international grape varieties with proven enological suitability. The vineyards benefit from a modern management system, as does the winery, which blends effective vinification with a wide range of winemaking options, rooted in a dialogue between New‑World techniques and traditional European approaches. **Vinification:** Grapes were mechanically harvested at night to preserve aromas and immediately processed in our winery. After three days of pre‑fermentation maceration, alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless‑steel vats at 24 °C. The musts were pressed using a hydraulic press, and malolactic fermentation occurred in French oak barrels where the wine aged for 12 months.
