The long tradition of Quinta da Lagoalva as a wine producer dates back to 1888, when it presented 600 wine barrels at the Portuguese Industry Exhibition. The red wine Quinta da Lagoalva Grande Reserva is born from 45 hectares of vineyards planted in the best terroirs of the Tagus, comprising both national and international varieties with proven enological aptitude. The vineyards benefit from a modern management system, as does the cellar, combining efficient vinification with a wide range of enological options that blend the “New World” model with traditional European approaches. **Vinification:** From small plots, the hand‑picked grapes are transferred to barrels in September, early enough to reach the cellar still in the morning. After three days of pre‑fermentation maceration, alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless‑steel vats at 24 °C. The musts are pressed in a hydraulic press and malolactic fermentation occurs in French oak barrels (new and second‑year), where the wine ages for 14 months. **Winemakers:** Pedro Pinhão | Luís Paulino.
