A salmon‑coloured rosé, smooth and full of personality. On the nose it shows its intensity with floral notes of grapefruit and white currant. On the palate it is dominated by a balance between honest fruits, ending with an intense and long finish. Quinta da Vacaria, one of the oldest estates in the region (first record dates back to 1616), is situated on the banks of the Douro River beside the town of Régua, in the heart of the world's oldest demarcated wine region, the Douro. At the estate's quay, Rabelo boats would dock to load long barrels full of Port wine and transport them to Gaia, at the mouth of the river, where they were sold in bulk worldwide, leaving their hidden identity behind since these wooden barrels were not even marked with the producer's seal. At the destination, the wine was bottled and labelled with the brand of the foreign merchants who acquired it, some of whom went on to gain considerable prestige. (illustrative image only)
