Description

Quinta D’Azinheira Region: Portugal, Douro – sub-region Baixo Corgo. Production location: Aldeia da Azinheira, Santa Marta de Penaguião, left bank of the Corgo River. Altitude: Between 300 and 400 metres. Vineyard: Xistous soils with high stoniness | Vineyards aged 5 to 25 years. Vinification: The grapes, hand‑picked at the ideal ripeness and transported in 20‑kg crates, were carefully selected, destemmed and gently crushed. Fermentation took place in stone vats, with mechanical crushing and remontage, under temperature control. The wine matured for 18 months in French oak barrels of the 2nd and 3rd years. Enology: Luís Leocádio. Pairing: Ideal for accompanying intense‑flavour regional Portuguese dishes such as roasts, grilled meats, sausages and medium‑ to long‑aged cheeses.
