Description

Quinta de Chocapalha is located in Aldeia Galega, in Alenquer, in the Lisbon Region. Although it is known as a fairly young producer of bottled wines, the records of this estate date back to the 16th century, during the reign of D. João VI. The fortunes of this centuries-old house changed radically when the Tavares da Silva family acquired it in the 1980s. The family quickly invested heavily in the vineyards and in the facilities for winemaking, with the sole aim of achieving the highest possible wine quality and upholding the reputation the estate has enjoyed since its earliest days. Across its 45 hectares of vineyards, the Quinta produces both white and red wines from national grape varieties, such as Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, and Arinto, as well as international varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon.
