Quinta de Cidrô Pinot Noir is considered by many to be the best variety in the world, yet it is certainly the most difficult to work with. Characterised by small bunches, low yield, and a thin, sensitive skin, this well‑known French variety has been one of the main challenges for our team of viticulturists and oenologists since it was planted in 2001. This example from Quinta do Cidrô demonstrates a different facet from the usual, blending the finesse and elegance of this typical Burgundy variety with the structure and minerality of the Douro. In appearance, this Pinot Noir shows an open, bright ruby colour. The typicity of the variety is expressed through notes of cherry and pomegranate, peacefully coexisting with vanilla nuances and very light coffee‑powder notes resulting from a 12‑month ageing in French oak barrels. Allergen information: contains sulfites.
