Cottas Reserva Tinto

Description

Produced with the traditional grape varieties of the Douro region, with a predominance of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinto Cão, this wine was aged 12 months in French oak barrels. Thanks to the unique characteristics of its terroir, it prioritizes elegance and complexity, and will pair perfectly with red meat, game, or even cod. Located in Vale de Alijó, Quinta de Cottas is a 10‑hectare estate that benefits from excellent conditions for the production of Douro and Port wines. In 2006, Isabel and Pedro Carmo were drawn to a vineyard that once belonged to a large and important estate. Their deep love for wine and for the Douro valley made it impossible to resist the opportunity to produce their own wines in this unique region, giving rise to this viticultural project. They quickly began converting the property, restoring the existing old vine block and planting the remaining available area. From the outset, they defined that the approach at Quinta de Cottas would involve capturing the essence of the main Douro grape varieties, producing high‑quality wines with a distinct personality that expresses its unique terroir.
