“This wine from Quinta de Lemos Dona Georgina is a statement of intent – a powerfully structured wine reflecting the demanding terroir of the Dão, with its granite soils and elevations between 350 and 400 metres. Primarily Touriga Nacional, blended with a touch of Tinta Roriz, it boasts a firm structure and polished tannins, yet retains the grace that Dona Georgina so valued. The hand-picked harvest, between mid-September and early October, is key to achieving perfect ripeness. Fermentation, managed in both French oak barriques and stainless steel tanks, preserves a remarkable freshness – a quality perhaps missed by a bolder producer. Expect a long, concentrated finish with hints of balsamics; ideally paired with grilled beef or a delicious river fish.”
