The Quinta de Saes Prolonged Maturation is a Dão red wine that blends elegance and depth, showcasing the benefits of an extended two‑winter aging in oak barrels. Crafted from a vintage of old vines—Touriga Nacional and Alfrocheiro—it offers aromas of wild fruit, herbal nuances, and a subtle earthy undertone. On the palate it delivers excellent freshness, precise tannins, and a long, harmonious finish, demonstrating great balance and evolving potential. The earliest known historical references to Quinta da Pellada date back to around 1570. The Demarcated Region of the Dão was established in 1908, surrounded by three mountain masses—Buçaco, Caramulo, and Serra da Estrela—that shield it from Atlantic winds and provide it with very special climatic conditions.
