This white from Quinta de San Michel, crafted from Arinto and Malvasia Fina, clearly had a good nap – 12 months in used oak barrels followed by 9 in the bottle. The nose offers a delightful journey: zesty citrus, ripe peach, and a subtle hint of acacia, with a curious smoky note echoing the Sintra hills. On the palate, the acidity is wonderfully vibrant, and the texture, developed during its extended ageing, promises a lingering, saline finish – absolutely perfect with grilled fish or fresh seafood.
