This Quinta de Ventozelo Reserva isn’t shy about its age – and it certainly doesn’t seem to have held back on the careful September grape selection. The result is a remarkably structured white wine, boasting an acidity reminiscent of the Alverca riverbank, underpinned by vibrant citrus aromas, recalling the local lemons. The influence of both French and Hungarian oak barrels has added a beautiful mineral complexity, supposedly echoing the schistous soils of the Douro Valley. Absolutely perfect with grilled white fish, perhaps some limpets, for a truly memorable pairing.
