This Douro Syrah from Quinta de Ventozelo is a wonderfully vibrant and surprisingly fresh wine, very much in keeping with the region’s character. Remarkably, it’s bottled without barrel ageing, which amplifies the fruit-driven notes of the Syrah, punctuated by a subtle spice that speaks of the Douro’s distinctive terroir. Perfect with a good grilled beef, of course.
