Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal, founded in 1922 under the name João Pires & Filhos, has made a long journey, establishing itself as one of the most innovative wine producers in Portugal. The company began by producing wines from grapes grown in the Palmela region. Throughout the 1980s, Bacalhôa expanded by acquiring estates across the country, setting new standards for quality wine production. The Quinta do Carmo houses the winemaking centre for all its Alentejo wines, equipped with modern technology and a production capacity of 3 million litres.
