Quinta do Côa is one of the Roboredo Madeira family estates, situated in the Upper Douro between the village of Almendra and the right bank of the Côa River. The roughly 80 hectares of the estate rest on chalky soils, exposed to the east and south, at altitudes ranging from 130 to 300 metres, and are cultivated under organic production strictly with native regional varieties, from vineyards to olive and almond trees. Located in a microclimate of high temperatures and low rainfall, the wines of Quinta do Côa are noted for their aromatic purity. In one of the most remote areas of the Iberian Peninsula, in the rugged zone between the Upper Douro and Beira Alta, Rui Roboredo Madeira’s passion for the aromas and scents of the land that shape his character was born in the family. After years of experience and life in other parts of the world, Rui brings back to his roots what he has learned, launching a personal wine production project always with maximum respect for nature.
