Quinta do Couquinho Controlled Designation of Origin: DOC – Douro In integrated production, this Reserve is made from the best grapes of the region’s traditional varieties—Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Sousão—sourced from the oldest vines at Quinta do Couquinho. Vinification: The wine is vinified in a press, with hand‑crushed skins, to allow greater phenolic extraction and a more homogeneous, efficient maceration, ensuring that the compounds in the skins are gently transferred to the wine. This maceration process is repeated throughout the alcoholic fermentation, always at controlled temperatures, with the aim of maximizing the potential of the old vines. Stage: After malolactic fermentation, the wine aged for 14 months in 2nd and 3rd‑year French oak barrels. Bottling: July 2024.
