This Jéroboam from Quinta do Crasto clearly took a rather… deliberate approach. The grapes, sourced from their own Quinta da Cabreira in the Douro Superior, were examined with a meticulousness worthy of a vintage inspector – and, interestingly, transported in plastic crates. Following crushing and pressing, the must rested in stainless steel tanks, carefully monitored for temperature. After a year in French oak barrels, the result should be a refined, perhaps slightly reserved, wine, confidently aged. It would pair wonderfully with duck or roasted poultry, offering a nice counterpoint.
