This Douro from Quinta do Crasto certainly feels like it’s been meticulously overseen – the grapes clearly went through a thorough quality check before being gently crushed in a granite lagar. The fermentation was expertly controlled, relying primarily on Touriga Nacional, and the subsequent maturation in 225-litre French oak barrels has resulted in a remarkably balanced and elegant wine. It’s a fantastic match with grilled beef, wouldn’t you agree?
