Description

The wines of Quinta do Infantado are produced, aged and bottled on the estate, located on the northern bank of the Douro near Pinhão in the Gontelho sub‑region, long celebrated for the excellence of its vineyards. In the late 19th century, the property was acquired by João Lopes Roseira, ancestor of the current managers. Since then the Roseira family has gradually expanded the vineyard area and focused on producing and aging Fine Wines. In 1979 the first Port wines from the estate were sold, reviving a very old tradition that had been lost for more than 50 years. The estate spans about 23 hectares of vines, classified with the highest designation in the Demarcated Region of the Douro, a distinction that inspires the refinement of traditional winemaking techniques in the cellar and, drawing on the superb grapes grown there, the creation of natural Port wines of the utmost quality.
