**Quinta do Infantado Reserva Red Wine** This 2007 Reserva is made from Class A vineyards— the highest classification in the Demarcated Douro Region— planted on loamy, low‑fertility soils. The wine is a field‑blend of more than twenty grape varieties from the older vines. In the newer plantings the predominant varieties are Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz. All vineyards are cultivated under certified integrated production, with a strong emphasis on minimizing environmental impact. **Winemaking** Grapes are transported in 20‑kg crates. Mechanical crushing with partial destemming is followed by foot‑treading in a stone press. Fermentation uses indigenous yeasts and takes place in a stone vat. Malolactic fermentation occurs in stainless‑steel tanks. The wine matures in both stainless‑steel tanks and in new and used French oak barrels. Bottling is done on the estate, without blending or filtration, on 16 June 2009. 250 magnums were produced, each individually numbered. **Serving & Cellaring** This Quinta do Infantado Reserva can be enjoyed immediately, but those who prefer bottle maturation may keep it for a few more years.
