Orbita is the result of blending several grape varieties and vineyard parcels from Quinta de Monte Xisto, each with distinct sun exposures, predominantly Touriga Nacional. It shows an intense red hue and a bouquet brimming with red fruit. The wine is complex and elegant, with a balanced structure, lively yet soft tannins, a fruity palate with surprising acidity, and an aromatic finish that hints at spices. The Quinta do Monte Xisto lies in the Demarcated Region of the Douro, in Vila Nova de Foz Côa. It is a family‑run project that merges the perspectives and technical know‑how of two generations of winemakers, giving birth to João Nicolau de Almeida & Filhos and continuing the family’s centuries‑long presence in Douro wines.
