This “Erro da Quinta do Mouro” is, undeniably, a delightful experiment. Miguel Louro has once again managed to conjure a truly distinctive white wine from what sounds like a wonderfully unplanned process – now in its fifth edition. Crafted with a completely wild assemblage of Arinto, Rabigato, Verdelho and Alvarinho, this Estremoz wine displays a remarkable freshness and structure that seems to defy the region's continental climate and its characteristic schist and limestone soils. The spontaneous fermentation, with full skin contact, yields a surprisingly complex and persistent wine – ideal for pairing with grilled fish or roasted chicken with Mediterranean vegetables.
