Located within the city of Estremoz, the estate stands out for its beauty and its history, with a thatched 18th‑century building, impressive gardens, groves, ornamental water tanks and other set‑century works of art, and today also for its excellent wines. The estate remained for many years in the possession of the Zagalo family, who used it as a holiday home, but unfortunately in 1974, following the April 25 Revolution, the house and estate were invaded and left abandoned. In 1979 the property was bought by Miguel Louro, who remains the owner to this day, and began wine production in the 1980s. (illustrative image)
