This wine from Quinta do Pinto Estate Collection clearly has a passionate devotion to fruit – and it seems a significant amount of effort went into selecting it. The grapes, hand-picked in 20kg bunches, point to a near-religious level of care. Fermented with indigenous yeasts in concrete, it’s designed for complexity, while the 12 months in older French oak barrels add a touch of elegance without being overly assertive. A solid blend of Merlot, Syrah, Aragonez, and Touriga Nacional, it’s a fantastic match for roasted red meats – perhaps with a robust black pig dish.
