This magnificent magnum from Quinta do Serrado in the Dão region is a serious statement – a wine that frankly, doesn’t hold back. The dark fruit, predominantly ripe cherry and baked plum, is incredibly intense. The Touriga Nacional provides that characteristic elegance, while the Alfrocheiro adds a welcome layer of aromatic complexity, with hints of coffee and vanilla from its time in oak. It’s a full-bodied wine with a fantastic finish, absolutely begging for a hearty roasted beef or perhaps a wonderfully rich rabbit stew.
