This Três Melros from Quinta do Vallado clearly spent some quality time ripening amongst its 20-year-old vines – the grapes were meticulously hand-picked, of course. The fermentation, a blend of stainless steel and French oak, lends a welcome complexity, with floral notes dancing alongside ripe fruit and a bright citrus lift. It boasts a robust mineral structure and a remarkably persistent finish. Absolutely perfect with grilled fresh fish, or perhaps a roasted chicken infused with fragrant herbs – a wine that knows it’s good, and frankly, so do we.
