Aged for 13 months in new 400‑liter French oak barrels. In 2009, after another dry winter, the hot summer conditions made it clear that an early harvest was likely, and the good weather plus significant heat during the final ripening period produced one of the earliest vintages at Quinta do Vesuvio. The combination of drought and very high temperatures in August and September set the stage for a challenging year. In fact, it was one of the smallest harvests in the Douro in the last 15 years, with some of the region’s main varieties failing in certain areas under those tough conditions. Contains sulfites.
