“This Quinta dos Carvalhais Reserva from Sogrape is a Dão wine that promises an elegant and memorable experience thanks to its carefully selected blend of Alfrocheiro, Touriga Nacional, and Aragonez. Vinified with the respect due to tradition, the grapes undergo a gentle immersion in temperature-controlled French oak tanks (28ºC) followed by a 12-month maturation in new and used barrels. The result is a deeply coloured wine, showcasing notes of violet and black fruit – particularly plum and cherry – underpinned by a subtle cedar aroma. The acidity is perfectly balanced, the tannins provide a protective structure, and the long finish encourages you to linger over the experience. Having achieved 92 points from a leading wine publication, it’s a fitting tribute to the exceptional terroir of the Dão.”
