Description

Rubrica: The wine was born in Reguengos, on Monte do Carrapelo, within ten hectares of a young vineyard that Luís Duarte conceived, designed and planted, a plot tended with meticulous care and personal insistence, with his own hand directing every detail. Rubrica was the first fruit of a personal project launched in 2007—a wine as one would expect, serious, complex, and profoundly seductive. The grapes were hand‑picked and transported in 15‑kg crates to the cellar entrance, where they were carefully sorted on a tray, partially destemmed and crushed. Each variety was fermented separately to extract its full potential. Fermentation ran for an average of 15 days in stainless‑steel vats at a controlled temperature (25–28 °C), with daily racking as needed. A malolactic phase followed, and the wine aged for 12 months in new French oak barrels. Decant beforehand. The wine improves markedly after one hour of aeration. It pairs wonderfully with Mediterranean dishes such as grilled octopus or bacalhau à lagareiro, and it also complements game preparations like partridge or wild boar stew.
