**Le Dôme** Le Dôme is a single-parcel wine located in the immediate vicinity of Château Angelus, Premier Grand Cru Classé. Its origins go back to the garage wine movement of the 1990s. It is one of three Grand Crus of Saint-Émilion that have survived that movement and continue to challenge the Cru Classés every year. **Viticulture:** The 3.20-hectare vineyard, planted between 1960 and 1970, is pruned low, to around 30 hectolitres per hectare, with four bunches per vine (less than half the volume permitted by the Appellation), ensuring great concentration. The soil is sand over iron crust (iron-rich deposits), which, together with the south-facing slope, provides exceptional drainage and keeps the vines constantly searching for moisture. The parcel was acquired solely for its origin, with terroir and vine age as the decisive factors. The parcel's neighbours are distinguished, including Château Angelus, a 1er Grand Cru Classé. **Winemaking:** Le Dôme undergoes two to three green harvests, at fruit set and at véraison, to ensure that only the most perfect bunches are selected: first by bunch and then, after destemming, grape by grape. Only conveyor belts are used to transport the grapes, and the wine is fermented in wooden vats after an extended cold maceration. The wine goes through malolactic fermentation in new French oak and is aged in barrels in a temperature-controlled cellar at 14°C. **Something Unusual:** Le Dôme is considered the greatest expression of Cabernet Franc in Bordeaux, surpassing Château Cheval Blanc and neighbouring Château Angelus. We began producing this wine in 1996, two years after our arrival in Saint-Émilion. With 20 years of history, Le Dôme competes with the greatest and most storied châteaux of the Appellation. **Awards** 100/100 – Wine Enthusiast 99/100 – Robert Parker, Wine Advocate 98/100 – Bacchus Magazine 97/100 – Chris Kissack, Winedoctor 97/100 – Alexandre MA 96/100 – The Wine Independent 95/100 – Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux 94/100 – Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider 94/100 – Tim Atkin 17.5/20 – La Revue du Vin de France **Allergen Information** Contains sulphites.
