Description

Since 1937, the Caves do Solar de São Domingos has been producing sparkling wines, aged brandies, bagasse brandy, and Bairrada and Dão wines. Its cellars hold more than two million bottles of sparkling wine, tens of thousands of bottled wines, and hundreds of oak casks for its famed wine brandies. The “São Domingos” Bagasse Brandy, made in its own stills, continues to lead the market with its traditional quality. In 2006 a modern vinification centre was opened, allowing the reception of a thousand tonnes of grapes from its own estates and from growers working in partnership with the company. Continuous innovation in production and vinification has raised the quality and prestige of the house’s wines, reinforcing the commercial competitiveness of the São Domingos brand. Wine tourism is also a winning strategy, delighting thousands of visitors each year with the beauty of the rock‑cut galleries, the millions of bottles, as well as the showroom, hall and museum with a tasting room, all of which form an integral part of the Bairrada Route.
