Description

Since 1937, the company Caves do Solar de São Domingos has been producing sparkling wines, aged brandies, bagaceira brandy, and Bairrada and Dão wines. Its galleries house more than two million bottles of sparkling wine, many thousands of bottled wines, and hundreds of French oak quartolas for its renowned wine brandies. The Aguardente Bagaceira "São Domingos," produced in its own stills, continues to lead the market with its consistent quality. In 2006, a modern winemaking center was inaugurated, capable of receiving one thousand tonnes of grapes from its own estates and from growers working in partnership with the company. Constant innovation in production and winemaking methods has elevated the quality and prestige of the house's wines, strengthening the business competitiveness of the São Domingos brand. Wine tourism is also a resounding success, delighting thousands of visitors every year with the beauty of the galleries carved into the rock, the millions of bottles, as well as the showroom, hall, and museum with a tasting room, which form an integral part of the Rota da Bairrada.
