Dr. A Gama Dr. A, cultivated at Herdade da Maroteira yet sourced from Évoramonte, delivers a small selection of “authorial wines.” These wines possess a very specific character, outside the box, testing both our grower – Philip Mollet – and our consulting winemaker – António Maçanita. The 100% Touriga Nacional, aged 16 months in new French oak barrels, is robust and structured. A wine of undeniable complexity, it offers powerful aromas of bergamot, licorice, and subtle hints of leather. A wine we believe lives up to Portugal’s Queen Grape. Vinification: hand‑picked nighttime harvest in 20 kg crates. An atypical Alentejo vinification, featuring natural, spontaneous alcoholic and malolactic fermentations. A “cuvaison” of over 20 days.
