This “Sottal” from the IG Lisboa is a delightfully unexpected find – almost a closely guarded secret. The vibrant expression, driven by Touriga Nacional, captures the fresh character of the region beautifully, with a subtle salty note reminiscent of the river breezes. It’s clearly been handled with care, perhaps incorporating some oak ageing, reflecting the producer’s thoughtful approach. Absolutely brilliant with shellfish or a grilled white fish.
