Made from grapes grown on the old vines of Quinta da Teixuga, with a predominance of the Encruzado variety, this wine initially fermented in stainless‑steel vats under temperature control, before finishing in French oak barrels where it aged for 34 months. During the barrel period it was subjected to periodic bâtonnage to optimise the integration of the wine with the wood. After bottling, it aged another ~7 months in bottle. Thus, given the particular ageing conditions and the distinctive characteristics of Encruzado, this is a wine with great longevity potential. It displays intense aromatics, revealing a complex bouquet that benefits from the exceptional integration of French oak notes.
