This O Tons Duorum Douro is clearly aiming for a bit of a puzzle – a wonderfully robust blend of Douro’s raw power with a deliciously mischievous touch. The old vine Douro lends it a serious character, underpinned by the firm structure provided by Touriga Nacional. Cabernet Sauvignon, predictably, adds a layer of refinement, while the Dão brings a welcome complexity, suggesting a wine with plenty of ageing potential. Definitely a bold choice, best enjoyed with a hearty grilled beef or a perfectly roasted pork loin.
