This Alentejo Arinto/Alvarinho clearly benefited from a rather fussy approach – you wouldn’t think a cold room temperature of 3°C could have such an impact, would you? The result is a remarkably elegant wine, with green apple and damp stone notes transporting you straight to the Serra de São Mamede. That notable acidity, boosted by the Serra’s salinity, was duly noted by the *Revista de Vinhos* judges, who described it as a dry, mineral wine with a sophistication that’s quite impressive. Wonderful with grilled fish or a good sheep’s cheese, I’d say.
