“This Tuella – clearly a wine with a bit of a fairytale story to tell – delivers a nose full of ripe black fruit and a whisper of spice, hinting at the Douro’s famed ‘encosto’ and the stalwart Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz. The palate is undoubtedly full-bodied, showcasing those tannins, but manages to retain a surprising elegance, finishing with a persistence that’s wonderfully Douro-esque. Best enjoyed alongside a serious roast, perhaps lamb, if you’re feeling particularly adventurous.”
