Valdafoz is a terroir wine from a small, secluded valley facing northeast in Corullón. It comes from an extreme vineyard, the result of heroic viticulture, planted on dizzying slopes of pure slate, which in Álvaro Palacios’s hands translates into a wine that is an exercise in mastery. The red combines an imposing natural concentration with Atlantic freshness and the fruity intensity characteristic of the great Mencías.
