One of the most prestigious estates in the Douro is Quinta do Vallado, an estate that once belonged to D. Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, the Ferreirinha, and which today remains in the hands of her descendants. The Vallado wines were unfairly forgotten, but have now naturally reclaimed their lost time. They are wines of great importance in the history of the Douro and deserve to occupy the highest places. Built in 1716, Quinta do Vallado stands as one of the oldest in the region. It is located near Régua, on the banks of the Rio Corgo. The future of this iconic estate is in the hands of João Alves Ribeiro and Francisco Ferreira, both descendants of the Ferreirinha, who are responsible for the business management and the oenology, respectively.
