Vallegre Tinto

Description

Born from the historic Quinta da Vista Alegre in the Cima Corgo, this Vallegre is a wine steeped in tradition and undeniable strength. Crafted primarily from Trincadeira, Sousão, Touriga Nacional and Aragonez, alongside the more elusive Tinta Francisca, it’s a true reflection of the Douro’s character. The winemaking process – including a pre-fermentation maceration and foot treading in granite lagares – really pulls out those intense red and wild berry aromas, laced with violet and a hint of spice, all thanks to a generous 22 months ageing in new French oak barrels. Robert Parker awarded it 91 points, and it pairs beautifully with grilled meats – a truly satisfying combination!
