This Alvarinho, hailing from Quinta do Mato – a family estate with roots stretching back to 1683 – is a wonderfully focused wine. The Valentim family, operating this small, intensely passionate ‘boutique winery’, clearly have complete control, meticulously managing the vines in Monção right through to bottling. It’s a brilliantly fresh, fruity wine, absolutely perfect with grilled white fish or seafood – a truly delightful pairing.
