The Transmontanas Caves have built their reputation and distinctiveness by producing exclusively Premium‑class sparkling wines. The company started operating in the 1980s with an ambitious project to make high‑quality sparkling wines in the Douro region, using the Traditional Method, and later also invested in still wine production. Located in Alijó, it benefits from the Mediterranean microclimate of the Cima Corgo sub‑region, producing not only sparkling wines with the right freshness and aromatic profile, but also dense and complex still wines.
